I recently had the opportunity to hear from Brianna Fruean, the passionate environmental advocate from Samoa, who shared some exciting updates about the ongoing project she’s been working on. For those who may not know, Brianna has long been a leader in the fight for climate justice, she’s a member of the Council of Elders for the Pacific Climate Warriors and a dedicated advocate for the Fossil Fuel Non-Proliferation Treaty.

The project Brianna has been working on, “THIS IS OUR HOME,” is not a new initiative, but it continues to grow and evolve in meaningful ways. The project blends the rich cultural heritage of the Pacific with modern storytelling to provide an in-depth look at the daily realities of climate change as experienced by Pacific communities. It has become a key component of the Fossil Fuel Treaty Initiative, which has been instrumental in the Pacific campaign that has driven global climate action. “THIS IS OUR HOME” brings the stories of Pacific communities confronting climate change to the forefront of popular culture, highlighting how their values, cultures, and faith have fostered resilience and innovation in the face of the crisis. These communities have become leaders in the fight against the fossil fuel industry, and their stories are essential to understanding the
broader climate movement.

Now, here’s the exciting new update: Brianna shared that there’s an upcoming album tied to the project, featuring a lineup of incredible Polynesian artists, including WAYNO.

This album is set to amplify the voices of the Pacific in a whole new way, with music that speaks to the urgency of climate justice. It’s an exciting development that adds another layer to the project’s impact. Additionally, “THIS IS OUR HOME” will be going on tour this summer, bringing the stories, art, and music of the Pacific directly to audiences around the world. It’s a wonderful opportunity to further engage people in the fight for climate justice and to showcase the leadership of Pacific communities at the forefront of this movement.
Brianna’s work continues to make a powerful impact, and “THIS IS OUR HOME” remains an essential initiative in the global call for climate action. The addition of the upcoming album and summer tour only adds to its significance, and it’s inspiring to see how the project continues to grow and reach new audiences!
