New challenger(s) approaching… 👀 Reigns and Momoa might just break the game. #StreetFighter

Roman Reigns + Jason Momoa = the crossover we didn’t know we needed.

Deadline reports that Roman Reigns and Jason Momoa, along with Noah Centineo and Andrew Koji, are currently in talks to star in Legendary’s live-action adaptation of Street Fighter based on the iconic video game series by Capcom. The film is being co-developed and co-produced in partnership with Capcom, the original developer and publisher of the franchise.

Reigns, born Leati Joseph Anoa’i, is a professional wrestling powerhouse known for holding one of the longest world title reigns in WWE history. He’s no stranger to the big screen either, having appeared in Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw and The Wrong Missy.

Originally launched in 1987, Street Fighter is a legendary fighting game series known for its intense one-on-one battles featuring a diverse roster of martial artists. The storyline often centers on a global tournament run by M. Bison, the sinister leader of the Shadaloo organization. With over 55 million units sold worldwide, Street Fighter is one of the best-selling and most influential video game franchises of all time.

Having two powerhouse Pasifika actors like Reigns and Momoa share the screen is a win for representation and we love to see it. It’s more than just casting; it’s a moment of cultural pride for Pacific Islanders everywhere to see our own bringing the heat to such an iconic franchise.

Reigns and Momoa bringing that energy to the screen? Now that’s what we call street cred.
