With heavy hearts, the music community grieves the departure of Eugene Wolfgramm-Hunt, a gifted singer and percussionist fondly recognized as Gene Hunt, who passed away at the age of 56. With a remarkable career spanning multiple decades, Gene made significant contributions to the industry as a founding member of the iconic 80s pop group, The Jets.

A heartfelt tribute from The Jets family, shared via social media, movingly conveyed the deep impact Gene had on those around him. Described as a beloved brother, father, uncle, and grandfather, he was remembered for his infectious spirit and undeniable talent. As a member of The Jets, he played a pivotal role in the group’s success, contributing to hits like “You Got It All” and “Crush On You,” both of which soared to the top of the Billboard Hot 100 charts.

He was not only a trailblazer within his own right but also a pioneer whose work inspired and influenced countless Pacific artists around the world. His dedication to his craft was matched only by his devotion to his family and faith. A loving husband, father of four, and grandfather, he was cherished by his wife Chelle, his children Mufi, Amona, Hinalei, Tiare, grandson Tuff Iohani, and his extensive family network. Known for his cheerful nature and faith, Gene’s passing has left a void in the hearts of those who knew him, yet his memory will continue to echo.
