If you’re on the side of TikTok that I’m on, you’ve probably seen that it’s brand trip season. For those who aren’t familiar with it, basically brands pay for influencers to go on an all expenses paid trip to a tropical destination, give them free “swag bags”, fill their hotel rooms or villas with the brand’s products, etc, and in return these influencers post about the trip and the brand’s products, essentially being digital billboards for consumers. It also creates “FOMO” for viewers and makes them want to be on those trips – well at least it makes me want to be there, lol.
Seeing all these influencers on brand trips makes me wonder when we’ll see a Pasifika influencer in these spaces. The thing about today’s digital age is people will just about watch anything. From a college student’s “day in the life” vlog to a stay-at-home mom’s day taking care of her children, and anything and everything in between. I personally love when I’m scrolling through social media and I see a Pasifika content creator/influencer– an immediate like and follow for me!
